Jam Edition - Programmer's Cut

On Behalf of Lemonz

Thanks again to everyone who participated in the jam and followed our game.  We couldn't have the confidence to keep going without you!  So here's what we've done so far.

Whilst the team is on break (a well deserved one!) and catching up with their daily lives, Kaleidio (I, the programmer), took the time to also get some patches out of the way that were intended to be in the shipped build during Jamsepticeye, that were sadly cut for time.  We call this Jam Edition - Programmer's Cut.  It's mostly just visual and auditory changes, with some tweaks to fix oddities and jank.

Donations Turned On

The Web Build will always represent the newest free-to-play edition of the game.  However, we do plan on releasing a full version of the game in the future, which may include a price tag.

Did you know that most of our team members are unemployed or only working part-time?  This means donations to our cause goes a long way, especially since all of us are still looking for game development roles (or projects) full-time.  We'd greatly appreciate the help.

Patch Notes

Anyways, to the real technical stuff.  Here's what's in the Programmer's Cut!

  • Another attempt at fixing the pause menu softlock
  • Replaced a lot of particle effects and fonts so they no longer are considered "missing assets" to the art style
  • Speed up the player's attack invincibility frames so you can finally spam Sisyphus at full intended speed
  • Improved sound choices from Corgi's existing SFX bank to fit the theme better
  • Tightened the collisions of Grassland Tiles to work against corners stopping your jump
  • Slowed Sisyphus's Charge attack to make jump-dodging him more reliable
  • Lowered the screenshake intensity
  • All enemies only drop 1 Obolus now, rather than up to 5, for economy balance sake
